As the Tunisian presidential elections approach, tensions are rising between the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) and the Administrative Court. The core of the debate revolves around the deadlines for transmitting court rulings and their interpretation. On one side, the ISIE claims it received the rulings late, beyond the legal 48-hour deadline imposed by electoral law, complicating the announcement of the final candidate lists. On the other hand, Judge Aymen Bougattas insists on adhering to the electoral timetable, considering it essential and not open to delays.

These differences highlight crucial issues one month before the elections: the integrity of the electoral process, the transparency of legal procedures, and the ability of institutions to meet deadlines. Additional questions arise, particularly regarding the execution of rulings and the ambiguity of certain regulations, creating an atmosphere of uncertainty that could affect voter confidence.

In this tense context, the role of the ISIE as a guarantor of electoral transparency becomes more central than ever.
