About

Who are we?

Inkyfada Podcast is the first platform entirely dedicated to original Tunisian podcasts, and was conceived by Inkyfada media in collaboration with the in-house research and development laboratory, InkyLab.

Inkyfada joined the global podcast boom in 2017, when the team produced the first Tunisian audio documentary, diving deep into the belly of the El Kamour struggle taking place in the desert.

Since then, Inkyfada Podcast has produced a wide variety of documentaries, investigations, and podcast series, as well as articles accompanied by music; covering a multitude of contemporary issues in order to offer an immersive and alternative podcast experience.

Whilst exclusively offering audio content, the Inkyfada Podcast team upholds the same core values and principles of inkyfada.com, and is committed to producing high quality content though a dynamic and meticulous production process.

In addition to the permanent team, Inkyfada podcast works closely with various journalists, artists, illustrators, musicians and other content creators in order to diversify the platform and support artistic creativity.

These podcasts differ from traditional radiophonic content in that the applied production and editing process is more akin to cinematographic techniques, in addition to being web-based, downloadable and accessible on demand.

Additionally, Inkyfada Podcast uniquely offers subtitles in French, Arabic and English for all audio content, the majority of which is recorded in Tunisian or in the preferred language of the speaker in question.

behind the mic

BOCHRA TRIKI

The head of Inkyfada Podcast. As both a feminist activist and film enthusiast, Bochra was not destined to dive into the imageless world of podcasts. However, wearing a headset to shield herself from the world when needed (as dictated by her Capricorn zodiac sign and INFP personality) and providing an artistic approach to audio production, the choice was ultimately well-suited. In addition to managing the production process, she co-directed the audio documentary covering the Ena Zeda (Me Too) movement, as well as the majority of the episodes for the January 14 series.

MONIA BEN HAMADI

Monia Ben Hamadi: Feminist, journalist and viscerally opposed to all forms of systematic oppression, Inkyfada's editorial director is not easy to deal with on a daily basis. Obsessed with many things (including human behaviour and serial killers), she constantly challenges general consensus, and cannot stand when things don't make sense or aren't precise. Passionate about immersive sound documentaries and true-crime podcasts, she co-directed the documentaries covering the El Kamour sit-in and the Ena Zeda movement.

OUSSEMA GAÏDI

aka "YnflX". The sound designer for Inkyfada Podcast is a musician, composer and occasional DJ. It all started in 2003 when he discovered the world of electronic music which sparked multidirectional journey into the world of audio. Recruited by Inkyfada in spite of his penchant for anxiety-inducing music and dark humour, has works in the recording studio which occasionally becomes a place of refuge for the rest of the team (soundproofing can really be a sanctuary). He is passionate about Noise and Drum and Bass, comics, plays chess during working hours, and, paradoxically, enjoys silence.

HAZAR ABIDI

Is actively working on not saying "that would make a good podcast" every time someone speaks. Alternating between various passions such as history, mythology, storytelling, tarot readings, social struggles and everyday life, she has to stop herself from saying "I have an idea" while she has a million other things to finalise. As editor-in-chief of the "Jaridaty" project, she has trained dozens of young people throughout Tunisia in podcast production. For Inkyfada Podcast, she produces the series Ija Ya Zmen, amongst other things.
