In the case commonly known now as the "case of the 17", which has involved many political figures, journalists, and activists since February 2023, the accused face sentences of up to the death penalty. However, at present, the files are based on empty evidence and unconvincing testimonies from informants, while they are accused of plotting against State Security.

More recently, on Monday April 17, the leader of Ennahdha movement, Rached Ghannouchi, was arrested at his home and taken for questioning, without allowing his lawyers to be present.

During this episode, our guests analyze the current political situation and its impact on the rule of law in the country. They examine the accusations against the people involved and the implications for the Tunisian judicial system. They particularly focus on the dysfunction of justice and the pressure exerted by President Kais Saied on the judicial power - which has been transformed into a function - to make it a tool for repression.
